Essentially, a Jewish Woodstock, Jewlicious Festival is a three-day gathering to unite Jews from all backgrounds to share a gigantic Shabbat sleepover complete with inspiring discussions and yummy food, rock out with the biggest names in the Jewish music scene, and celebrate all things Jewish.
Like any good festival, the music is a major highlight and this year’s lineup expects a special guest appearance from Grammy Nominee/Jewish reggae sensation Matisyahu, who also gave a special performance at last year’s festival. Additional musicians making an appearance are Aharit Hayamim - a popular Israeli reggae band, Moshav – a Carlebach infused, Phish-like, jam band, Aramaic/Yiddish/Hebrew/English hip-hop rapper Y-Love, and many others.
Although the schedule is still not finalized, some highlights from previous festivals include: concerts food vip lounge comedy henna tattoos speakers cholent song dance cafe blogging good-vibes yoga kosher greenkeit vendor-shuk kabbalah slumber party apparel games slam-poetry challah online Israel workshops kiddush wine film jamming unity art dj’s swag pool yoideling meditation coffee tea improv fashion conversations bbq. Quite a mouthful, but Jewlicious seems to really know how to handle such a massive event and knows how to keep hundreds of people busy and having fun.
